Q&A: Does anyone have any “different” smoothie recipes?
Posted by admin | Under Healthy Recipes Tuesday Nov 15, 2011Question by Al: Does anyone have any “different” smoothie recipes?
Healthy smoothies, not the ones crammed with ice cream and sugar. Yes it is possible. I’m expirementing with some myself. Just wondering if anybody has any that are really out of this world. Not your regular strawberry-banana. I’ll eat any kind of fruit so don’t worry about my taste. One last thing. I want to hear from you, not those “Just go to blah blah blah.com and find your own recipes.” If anyone has that, I don’t want to hear it.
No yogurt either please.

I am not a fan of yogurt smoothies so i make mine this way.
Add mango, big handfull of rasberies and 1/4 cup cut strawberries with some apple or orange juice. Maybe for something more tropical use orange pinapple juice. Then add ice and blend. This is my favorite kind

PEACH & PEANUT BUTTER SMOOTHIE
4 ripe petite bananas, skinned & frozen
1 cup peaches, frozen
2-3 ice cubes
3/8 c. reduced fat peanut butter at room temperature
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
dash cinnamon and nutmeg
Gently blend and pulverize frozen bananas and peaches and ice in a food processor or chop by hand. Warm peanut butter in a stainless steel bowl in hot water or in unopened can in steamer to about 140°F so it will flow easier. If peanut butter separates, beat together with a fork.
Blend peanut butter into frozen fruit mixture for 15-30 seconds. Blend in spices. Portion into cup servings. Refreeze to 10°-20°F.
