How come i’m not losing any weight?

I’m 35 years old, still people assume i’m in my early 20′s [got one of those faces, or maybe it's because moon-faced fat girls look young :-) ]. I haven’t been trying to lose weight, despite my 220 lbs for 5’5″ because I’ve always been convinced I don’t want to be skinny and my body would look good at any weight [been told that as well]. So maybe that’s the reason behind my not real attempt [or even desire] to lose weight. I think I’m convinced, deep down, that I should “rebel” against this demand to be skinny and like everybody else. Been quite a rebel at heart all my life, and trying to lose weight [working so hard] feels like giving in to the haters and — well — letting my [poor, overweight, angry] self down.

If that makes any sense :-) .

Still, i want to lose a bit of weight. 180 is my ideal. And so:

- I start walking to and from work [about 60 minutes a day].
- I have never been crazy about sugar, except for two lumps morning and night with my coffee. So cutting on sweets [that i don't take much of] wasn’t a problem.
- I started eating breakfast [never were keen on breakfast, my biggest meal of the day being my dinner]. 35% Fiber cereals with milk.
- And started drinking more water, two bottles is all i could take a day
- I don’t drink soda.
- I don’t eat fast food often.
- And I don’t eat midnight snacks.
- I get a good night sleep
- I don’t let myself stress over things
- I try to eat more fruits and veggies on, atleast, snack time.

Still, i don’t seem to lose any weight. I know dinner being my biggest meal of the day and my fondness to salt, the fact that i’m used to eating quickly all my life [grew up with boys, and am always doing something while eating] and my inability to stomach much water may have a negative effect on my “diet”. Still, you’d think i would lose a bit more, right?

So what’s really going on? Is my metabolism messed up or — is there something wrong with me. I might mention that i’m the healthiest person i know, and don’t have an upper body fat. But i’m worried things may get bad after 35. Also, i don’t have kids and i wanna be in a position to have kids someday, when i want them.

Advice please.
When saying “don’t have an upper body fat”, I don’t mean i’m completely skinny. I have a slimmer waist than most overweight people, still i have a stomach [that doesn't show much because i'm used to sucking it, and got a bit of muscle there too] and my arms are as big as my tighs, although i’ve develped muscle and they are quite strong. I want those to go too.

Weight lose question for real fitness pros?

I’ve struggled with my weight all my life and i’ve found the healthier i’ve gotten over the years, only diet soda once in a while, rice milk instead of regular, ground turkey instead of ground beef, etc and working out, I’ve found that my weight has just continuously gone up, up and up! 2 yrs ago i got a job that i have to commute about an hour to and didn’t work out continuously until this yr. Now that I’ve started again (June), I’ve found that i can only drop 8lbs and that’s it. I’ve watched myself have 1 meal for a whole day not even fast food but a plate and a half of indian food and the next day my weight was up 2 whole pounds!!! So, i’m at the brink of giving up. I look at people eating whatever they want and I have to have an apple for breakfast, a small lunch and nothing for dinner and still not losing weight. YOu are probably thinking i don’t work out hard enough but i do high intensity workouts like Jari Love and Kathy Friedrich and FINISH the 1HOUR plus workouts. I’m a sweatball when i’m done. I’m 33 BTW I’m working my heart out, sacraficing and getting no results i don’t know what to do. My doctor said my thyroid is fine but i don’t think so, i did some drastic dieting in my teens that could have slowed down my metabolism but it shouldn’t be this bad. 2 Meal replacements a day with one meal used to work but now that doesn’t. What gives? Anyone had this problem or know someone who has and have they found a solution. Only knowledgeable answers please.
Please DO NOT send me your websites with propaganda and quack remedies.

What is a good natural dog food with no fillers?

I have 2 Boston Terriers and one of them has allergies to what we believe is corn and wheat. I’ve been feeding them the Iams Lamb and Rice…I’m kinda wondering why my vet would even recommend this food to me seeing as how on the back of the bag it has corn meal and corn grits. But anyways..I wanted to get some recommendations for a healthy natural dog food at an affordable price that I can purchase from ANY Petco,Petsmart or Petland if possible. Right now I’m leaning towards getting Blue Buffalo but I’d love to hear what other people have in mind!!!

♥ Thanks in Advance! ♥

What’s making me feel so sick? =/?

I am constantly tired, I frequently look undead like a zombie (unusually pale, skin around eyes is red, then dark blue underneath them), and just walking around my school campus to a different class can put me out of breath or make my heart speed up….it’s so uncomfortable =/

I know these are really aren’t specific symptoms, but does anyone know of an explanation why I’m feeling like this all the time? I’m never like this….and feeling great again would be awesomeee :]

Thanks in advance!!!

P.S. I know for a fact that…
- This is not anemia (I’ve been blood tested many times)
- This isn’t resulting from a poor diet; a dietition put me on a meal plan to keep me at my healthiest. Even the dietition informed me that I shouldn’t take vitamins because this plan covers all the nurtrition I should be getting out of food in one day.

why does the media idolize celebrities who are thin?

whenever i read a headline in a magazine, it is alomst always talking about celebrity diets and what they do to stay so thin. why are we as americans obsessed with being skinny? just because you are skinny doesnt mean that you’re healthy. there are people that are considered “fat” that are healthier than some thin people. they have better hearts, they can run faster, have more stamina. i am 19 and im a size 7/8. why am i considered fat? i dont have an overlapping stomach my legs are rather toned and i dont have flabby arms. i jog everyday to build my cardio and i try to eat healthy. since when did it become healthy to be able to see your bones through your skin? and when did it become so attractive? why is the media trying to brainwash us to believe that it is sexy to deprive yourself of a good meal and look like a skeleton? i have thin friends who are in perfect health and dont go through the crazed dieting to remain that way it’s in their genes. what is going on?

Did you know you can prolong your life by only eating one meal a day?

cannot live a long time if we laden our bodies with fats to burden our hearts in pumping blood through all this fat. It shortens the time our heart beat, and the fat person is-in many instances more likely to attract sickness and disease.

5 Why are we healthier and our lives prolonged by eating as God has taught as in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, to Whom praises are due forever? It is because of the one meal a day or fasting. Eating once a day and fasting gives the body time to rest from the previous meal and to absorb it properly and distribute it where the body is calling for it.

6 Some of us eat so often and so much of the time that it actually has a tendency make us small and skinny because we never allow time for the previous meal to digest and distribute the vitamins and proteins into the proper places and throughout our blood stream. Rest, given to the digestive system of our bodies, is the thing that prolongs our lives.

Appetite changes?

I am just coming out of a very stressful, anxiety filled time. I have gotten back on schedule with my sleeping and working out. I have also been eating healthier, as my Dad just had a heart attack so the whole family has started eating better. A week or so ago, I wasn’t feeling very hungry. But now, I feel like I can’t eat enough. I eat a normal size meal but my stomach feels empty not long after. I’ve also been dealing with some constipation the past few days. What could be going on? I feel fine and I had a full physical in March, and everything, including all my bloodwork, was fine. I am 21 years old, about 5’3″ and weigh 120 lbs. I have never had any issues with my health, and in addition to my physical, I had a thyroid ultrasound as thyroid problems run in my family, but everything with that came back fine, too. Are these changes just due to my schedule and work out changes? What do you guys think? I am getting a lot more sleep and exercise than usual.
I’ve also been drinking more water than usual, and started taking a women’s multivitamin about 3 weeks ago. I’m a bit of a hypocondriac so I always tend to think the worst about things. I am just looking for some outside opinions! My fiance thinks I’m crazy for worrying about little stuff like this.

does this diet work !?

and if so. how much weight do you think ill lose while one it.
and also doing an hour of cardio a day..

YOU MUST ABSTAIN FROM ALL ALCOHOL. YOU MUST DRINK 10 GLASSES OF WATER EACH DAY

DAY ONE – All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want. It is strongly suggested that you consume lots of melons on the first day. Especially watermelon and cantaloupe. If you limit your fruit consumption to melons, your chances of losing a lot of weight on the first day are very good.

DAY TWO – All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the amount or type. For your complex carbohydrate, you will start day two with a large boiled potato for breakfast. You may top the potato with one pat of butter.

DAY THREE – A mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet. No potatoes today.

DAY FOUR – Bananas and milk. Today you eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. This will be combined with the vegetable soup, which may be eaten in limited quantities.

DAY FIVE – Today is a feast day. You will eat sprouts and paneer and tomatoes. Eat 280 grams of sprouts and paneer. Combine this with six whole tomatoes. On day five you must increase your water intake by one quart. This is to cleanse your system of the uric acid you will be producing.

DAY SIX – Sprouts and paneer and vegetables. Today you may eat an unlimited amount of sprouts and paneer and vegetables. Eat to your heart’s content.

DAY SEVEN – Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.
Vegetables can be taken in the form of salad if desired. No dressing except malt, white vinegar, squeezed lemon, garlic and herbs. No more than one teaspoon of oil. Do keep way from beans (Lima, Pinto, kidney.) because they tend to be high in calories even though they are very good for you.

BEVERAGES YOU MAY CONSUME WHILE ON THE PROGRAMME.

Water flavored with lemon or lime if desired.

Club soda

Black coffee, No cream or cream substitute, No sugar or sweeteners.

Black tea.

No fruit juices before Day 7.

HOW AND WHY IT WORKS.

DAY ONE – You are preparing your system for the upcoming program. Your only source of nutrition is fresh or canned fruits. Fruits are nature’s perfect food. They provide everything that you could possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety.

DAY TWO – It starts with a fix of complex carbohydrates coupled with an oil does. This taken in the morning for energy and balance. The rest of Day 2 consists of vegetables, which are virtually calorie free and provide essential nutrients and fiber.

DAY THREE – Day 3 eliminates the potato because you are getting your calories from the fruits. Your system is now prepared to start burning the excess pounds. You will still get cravings, which will diminish by Day 4.

DAY FOUR – Bananas, milk and soup sound like the least desirable and strangest diet. You are in for a surprise. You will probably not eat all the bananas that you are allowed. But they are there for the potassium you will have lost and the Sodium that you may have missed during the last 3 days. You will notice a definite loss of desire for sweets. You will be surprised how easily this day will go.

DAY FIVE – Sprouts and tomatoes. The sprouts are for iron and protein. The tomatoes are for digestion and fiber. Lots and lots of water purity your system. You should notice colorless urine today. You must eat 6 tomatoes.

DAY SIX – Day 6 is similar to Day 5. Iron and proteins from sprouts, vitamins and fiber iron vegetables. By now your system is a total weight loss inclination. There should be a noticeable difference in the way you look from Day 1.

DAY SEVEN – Day 7 finishes of the program like a good cigar used to finish of the Victorian meal. Except it is much healthier. You have your system under control and it should thank you for the flushing and cleaning you just gave it.

Will this speed up my metabolism after a meal?

I just went out to dinner I had 2/3 (about 2 eggs) of a vegetable omelet, 2/3 of however much hash browns they gave me (Not THAT much), 2 piece of whole wheat toast, and a little bit of ketchup on the side
(I know this isn’t that healthy, but it was one of the best sounding things they had)

Anyhow, long story short, I’m about to go babysit so I don’t have time to exercise a lot or anything. To make myself feel better about the dinner, though, I just took a jog around the block. I feel my heart beating; will doing even just this speed up my metabolism?

P.S. I’m 15, Female, 5’6/5’6, 116-117 lbs

I ate okay the rest of the day, I had a small amount of sweets, though, too. :(
I really didn’t eat that great today, I guess
*5’5/ 5’6
Oops :)
